How Novel-t started
From VTS to GTS (5/10)
One platform. Many health programs. Different delivery strategies.
Nigeria uses #GTS across multiple states for a growing range of public health programs, from polio outbreak response and enumeration to targeted vaccination campaigns and supportive supervision.
This breadth reflects what #GTS is designed to do: adapt to different programs, geographies and service delivery strategies. It supports house-to-house campaigns, fixed-site services, stationary vaccination posts and mobile or advanced outreach, while providing geospatial evidence to compare planned coverage with actual field delivery.
The examples below, drawn from ongoing programs and recent campaigns across Africa, show how these delivery models are applied in the field.
Cameroon | working with national and district teams, has used GTS for polio vaccination and social mobilization, independent monitoring, and targeted campaigns including yellow fever and measles response.
DRC | Implementing partners have applied GTS to polio campaigns and integrated immunization, with distinct workflows capturing field evidence from vaccinators, supervisors, social mobilizers and enumeration teams across several provinces.
Madagascar | Health teams have used GTS for polio vaccination, advanced and mobile routine immunization outreach, a national vaccination-coverage survey and HPV vaccination. GTS helps identify outreach points and the communities reached or missed nationwide.
Across these countries, GTS provides a common geospatial operating layer to plan coverage, monitor delivery, identify gaps and direct teams and resources where they are needed most.
Where were services delivered? Who was reached? What should be prioritized next?
