From polio eradication to field excellence: real-time tracking system that changed everything.
When vaccination teams go door to door, the biggest challenge is simple but critical: Did we truly reach every household?
That critical challenge led to the Vaccination Tracking System (VTS) — deployed across Nigeria’s polio campaigns, where every 2 minutes, team positions were automatically recorded. The result? VTS played a significant role in Nigeria’s polio eradication by identifying chronically missed settlements that traditional methods couldn’t detect.
Today, evolved as the Geospatial Tracking System (GTS – https://lnkd.in/eapNUSAT ), it powers field operations across 9+ countries, supporting 150+ field activities, 284K+ teams, 378M+ tracking records, and 10M+ ODK submissions — enabling programs to:
✅ Improve health outcomes by geo-enabling immunization activities
✅ Geospatially monitor field teams in real time
✅ Collect georeferenced data with ODK forms
✅ Compute settlement-level geo-coverage and estimated population reached, along with automated aggregates at the province, district and sub-district levels
✅ Identify missed and chronically missed areas
✅ Replace piles of paperwork with digital, actionable insights
